Fundamentals of Single Point Diamond Turning
John P. Schaefer (Elcan Optical Technology - Texas )

This course is intended for individuals new to the *field, those with just a few years of experience, and also those considering implementing this technology into their operation. Attendees should gain a better understanding of current equipment capabilities, diamond tools, materials, applications, optical and mechanical specifications, fixturing concepts, and metrology of SPDT components. In addition to these topics, process troubleshooting and proper handling and cleaning techniques will be discussed. Attendees will receive a bound handout that includes a bibliography of technical articles on specific topics related to single point diamond turning.
