R&D Precision Machining Engineer

The precision machining engineer will be a member of the process integration department. The candidate will be responsible for the development of precision planarization processes and their transfer into manufacturing.

Required:

A minimum of a B.S. or M.S. in mechanical engineering, precision engineering or equivalent.
Hands on experience with single point diamond machining, flycut, grinding, lapping, polishing and/or dicing.

Desired:

Familiarity with microfabrication, MEMS, or semiconductor processing.
Experience with CMP and ceramic lapping.
Know how in metrology and CMM tools.

Responsibilities:

Research and development for diamond flycut process.
MEMS substrate planarization including grinding, lapping and polishing.
Substrate precision dicing, laser cutting and machining.
Support the development, evaluation and transfer into manufacturing of new processes.
Support evaluation and acceptance of new equipment, tooling or metrology.
Work to improve manufacturing area control systems to ensure consistent manufacturing processes.
