Job Description

  • Application development role supporting new product development function through use of applied mathematics. VB programming and systems integration. Support application development for translating design concepts into complex mathematical algorithms/programs. Support development and validation of programming systems to interface with manufacturing systems for medical device manufacture.
  • Support custom VB application development for machined optical devices and components including code development, end user testing and system documentation.
  • Support development of complex mathematical algorithms to define optical surface designs and translate into machine code for producing optical surfaces.
  • Support advanced application development for integrated machining and metrology solutions for complex opto-mechanical surfaces.
  • Prepare process documents (including protocols, procedures, reports) to support development of robust optics/machining processes and capabilities from development through to manufacturing transfer.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS Mathematics or Physics (MS preferred)
  • 0-3 years in mathematical algorithm/application development.
  • Experience with Visual Basic programming/application development with advanced algorithm/mathematical development skills. Experience with Matlab or similar application. Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems (preferably SolidWorks or Mastercam) or programming for CNC machining system (optical machining preferred).
